The Call to Serve team is proud to announce its newest member, Perry Bruno.  After many long weeks of planning and praying, Perry has decided to join Adam and myself for this faith changing adventure.  Perry is a long time friend of mine and is no stranger to helping others. We know that Perry will be a huge part of the Call to Serve’s success on our maiden voyage from a working standpoint, but more importantly from a spiritual standpoint as well.   Adam and I just want to thank Perry for taking this leap of faith and not looking back!

Aquinas Academy and Me

Today I went to Aquinas Academy to talk to 1st through 8th grade at the end of the day. The kids were great listeners and they asked very good questions when I had finished speaking.  This one little girl told me that she had an uncle that lived in San Diego who is getting surgery and she wanted me to help him, my heart broke when she told me this – she was so cute! My prayers are with you uncle in San Diego, good luck in surgery!

The Aquinas Academy family has been gracious enough to host a dress down day on Friday for $1 and all the proceeds will go to CTS.  We are extremely grateful for helping us fund-raise for our inaugural trip.  We hope that the Aquinas Academy family continues to support and follow us through out our journey this summer and summers to come.

Talking with GCC student council

On Monday, I was able to talk to the Greensburg Central Catholic student council and it was a great opportunity for The Call to Serve.  It was very inspiring to have the chance to listen and interact with this group of young leaders.  The meeting was held at Giannillis Italian Restaurant in Greensburg asa well deserved reward for the all the student council’s hard work through out the year.  But the GCC student council hasn’t stopped working even though their school year is coming to a close, they insisted on finding a way to help The Call to Serve on our journey.  One thing that they are helping us out with is the food supply that the CTS team will need while we are in the RV.  Gathering these non-perishable goods for us to enjoy during our long hours on the road is a huge sign that people are looking after us.  They didn’t stop there either! A teacher at GCC, Mrs. Mary Jo Brecht, also suggested to do a root beer float sale at lunchtime and the student council embraced the idea.  We can’t thank the GCC student council enough and we hope to continue to hear from you through out our trip!
